Each Trustee serves a 4 year term. There are a total of 5 Trustees. The terms are staggered 3 to 2, so that 3 Trustees start their terms together and the other 2 Trustees start their terms 2 years apart. The Trustees are appointed by the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors every 2 years, depending on the staggered term.
